Follow my advice, my son; always treasure my commands.
Obey my commands and live! Guard my instructions as you guard your own eyes.
Tie them on your fingers as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.
Love wisdom like a sister; make insight a beloved member of your family.
Proverbs 7
This week, at our AGM, it was wonderful to take time to step back and realise God’s faithfulness to our school community throughout the last few years. We were blessed to hear from Jo Fahey, the State Executive Officer of Christian Education National, who reminded us of the power of Christian education which, through powerful partnerships with parents, establishes a unique perspective and way of living in our students that prepares students to be positive contributors in their world.
As a fan of the Disney show, Welcome to Wrexham, listening to Jo reminded me of a phrase Ryan Reynold’s uses often in the show, that ‘pressure is a privilege’. Whether we are staff or parents, the pressure we face each day to prepare and equip our students with foundations built on the rock is massive.
Whilst we cannot remove this pressure, we can step back and remember the massive privilege it is to provide and be a part of Christian Education in our community so that we can continue to work towards achieving our deep hope together, to play a part in a community that seeks to be God’s hands and feet in His grand story that redeems, rescues, restores; brings wholeness, healing and hope; and educates, equips and liberates. One that brings identity, purpose and hope.
It was also exciting on Wednesday night to reveal the preliminary drawings (see below) for our Stage 1 build. We meet with council this week to discuss our plans. Please pray for favour. This build will involve infrastructure upgrades, parking upgrades, more classrooms, a library and two courts, one undercover.
Again, a huge thank you to our Association members who so willingly give to help build this awesome community. For those who would like to contribute to our school by being part of our association you can visit https://richmond.nsw.edu.au/community/
to find out more details. Alternatively, one of our Board members would love to chat with you so don’t hesitate to reach out. For those in our community who are not eligible for association membership but would still love to contribute please connect with us through attendance at Relate or by volunteering. Please contact the School Office for more details.
Finally, I would like to remind all our families and community members who would like to support our Stage 1 Development or prospective enrolments there are avenues to do this through tax deductible donations to our Library, Building and Scholarships funds. To find out more about these contact finance@richmond.nsw.edu.au.
What a privilege it is!
