Dear RCC Family,
Welcome back! It is always wonderful to see our students back and the school grounds full of life again. I hope you have been able to have some wonderful times of connection and rest over the school holidays.
The break saw us able to upgrade more of our facilities; the students will notice more seating, painted classrooms and further upgrades to our electrical and internet infrastructure.
We have an exciting term ahead of us. With a very successful basketball gala day behind us we now look forward to an athletics carnival (hopefully!), netball, Oztag and netball gala days, our creative and performing arts Showcase and the milestone of trial HSC exams and the graduation of the Class of 2026. We also have some exciting Parents and Friends of RCC events to look forward to. There is so much we are excited to celebrate together this term!
Over the break, staff spent a dedicated week focused on embedding the evidence-based practices of High Impact Teaching Strategies and the concepts from Smith’s, Everyday Christian Teaching into our practice seeking to strengthen our culture of safety, belonging and connection, and ensure our classrooms are safe, predictable spaces where academic rigour can thrive.
We also reflected on the biblical metaphor of the vineyard in John 15 and were reminded that true growth happens only when we stay firmly connected to the Vine. Jesus is not merely the source of our daily capacity, but the very compass that allows us to prune well for growth and guide our identity, purpose, and hope.
In light of this truth, I pray for a wonderful Term 3 and God’s blessing over our community and our Year 12 students in particular as they navigate their final term!
Good Tidings!
Jonno
